Here is the poster for the 2011 Alberta Street Fair, pretty cool right?

We had a pretty good day, and here are some pics to enjoy! The first photo shows our booth and both Jen and Sarah hiding behind the tables haha...

The next two pictures are way awesome and were pulled off of the Alberta Street Fair's Photobucket album and their Facebook page! One of the people associated with the event came by and snapped a couple of photos. They loved our barrettes and their colorful amazing-ness!! Love!

July's Last Thursday, 7/28

Urban Designs will be at Last Thursday on NE Alberta Street tomorrow after 1 pm by NE 22nd Ave on NE Alberta Street. We set up in front of Townshend's Tea House and have for several years now... The show is officially open from 7 pm to 10 pm and the street is closed and open to the public. We will be there setting up and ready for people by 4 or 5 though :) It's going to be 80 + degrees so we hope it's a busy one ;)

Montavilla Recap

So it rained ALOT on us on Sunday's Montavilla Street Fair. Buckets and buckets!

Everything got soaked on our front table, but somehow we survived! Thank goodness for our canopy..... It actually got nice that afternoon around 4:20 or so which was funny because the event ended at 5 pm haha! We still had fun and we thank the patrons that braved the weather! We will be back next year! Check out some of our hand sewn headbands below.... The bottom row was just finished last week!

1st Annual Montavilla Street Fair

On Sunday, July 17th we will be at the Montavilla Street Fair for its' first annual celebration! It will be open from 10 am until 5 pm and you will find craft vendors like us of course, live music, a beer and wine garden, and kids activities. It is being held on two different blocks, on SE 78th between Washington and Stark and on SE 79th between Stark and Pine. We are going to be on SE 70th right by Flying Pie Pizza, YUM!

10th Annual Mississippi Ave Street Fair!

We are very excited to be a part of the Mississippi Street Fair again this year! It is on Saturday, July 9th and open for vending and fun from 10 am to 9 pm. Located on and up and down NE Mississippi Ave inbetween NE Skidmore and NE Fremont Streets. We will be located near NE Failing...

Please come check this out it is bound to be a really excellent day... There are over 100 vendors with locally made products and crafts as well as dozens of food carts, local restaurants, a beer garden, and even FIVE stages with 32 bands playing in total!!

Not to mention, that Urban Designs will be there to show you all of our awesome crafts! We are so excited to see you there this Saturday!!

Last Thursday in June...

Hello! Wanted to remind all of you that we will be at Last Thursday on June 30th from the afternoon probably around 3 pm until 10 pm that night! We will be there with all of our wares, ready to see all the friendly people and enjoy hopefully- a nice day!!

We do have one of our new bow style barrettes there for sale for the first time! Come get them while they're hot and new!

We will be at our regular spot of course, in front of Townshend's Tea House on NE Alberta near NE 22nd Avenue. See ya there!

Sat. Nov. 20th, Gramma's Bazaar...

Join Urban Designs this weekend on November 20 at Gramma's Bazaar! It is being held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and is located at the First Church of God at Kingsway Christian School at 3300 NE 78th Street, in Vancouver, WA.

Exciting for us, as it is our first ever Vancouver bazaar!

11/12 and 11/13 ~ Annual Holiday Marketplace at New Hope!!

Join Urban Designs Unique Jewelry by NW Artists at the 2010 Annual Holiday Marketplace at New Hope Community Church! It starts today, Friday, Nov. 12th, from 10 am to 6 pm and also runs tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 13th, from 9 am to 5 pm! There are over 110 vendors on two floors full of unique and handmade gifts! Located at 11731 SE Stevens Rd, Portland, OR, 97086. Located across I-205 from Clackamas Town Center Mall. It's our 3rd year here :) Look up other information and directions here!

Lewis Elementary School Holiday Bazaar! Sat. 11/6!

Hey ya'll! Come join us at our first 2010 Holiday Season show! It is held at Lewis Elementary School at 4401 SE Evergreen Street in Portland, Oregon. It is really a super great show filed with multitudes of handmade gifts and treasures. One of the coolest things about the show is that 30 % of all the proceeds go back to the school to help fund their needs! What could be better than to get some amazing and unique gifts as well as support your local community and businesses! Open hours are this Saturday, November 6th from 10 am to 3 pm. 2010 Holiday Shows

Very soon we will have all of our holiday shows listed for this year! We will be out there almost every single weekend! Yahoo!

We have such a wide assortment of products in person that we have no way of showing online. It is really so worth it to see us in person.

Miniature domino pendants, earrings, bracelets, and rings. Rummi kube pendants and earrings. Scrabble tiles in both wood and plastic in pendants, earrings, and rings. Two sided bottle cap necklaces. Tons of ring designs in all different mediums. Dozens of types of earrings. Bamboo necklaces in two sizes. Large domino pendants and keychains. Fabric button pendants and rings. Plus all of our barrettes in felt, fabric, button, ribbon, and more.... As well as headbands ranging from felt to feather!

We are really excited for this year's shows to begin!

Very excited to share the news that our jewelry and accessories can be now found at lemontree! Lemontree is located at 1724 NE 40th Ave, Portland, OR, 97212 or at www.lemontreepdx.com. It is a wonderful boutique which carries such a wide array of beautiful finds for yourself or your loved ones! Cards, purses, candles, tea, jewelry.... everything! So much to choose from so come here and spend the time looking. It is worth it!

September's Last Thursday!

Hello, Peeps!

We will be in our regular spot on this last, Last Thursday of the year! It is unbelievably sunny out today and we are excited to be able to do another show... Hope to see your pretty, smiling faces out there :)

Our last 2009 Event! The Hip Happening Sat. 12/12/09.

Our last holiday show of 2009 is upon us on this Saturday, December 12th. The Hip Happening event runs from 11 am to 6 pm and is located at 7126 SE Milwaukie Street in Portland, OR. There will be some live music happening from 12 pm to 1 pm and Santa Claus himself will be there from 1 pm to 3 pm! The main floor is filled and we heard they're filling the lower level as well so come do your last minute Holiday shopping!

Lewis Holiday Bazaar Saturday 11/7/09!

Our first holiday event of the year! On Saturday November 7th we will be at the Lewis Holiday Bazaar at 4401 SE Evergreen Street, Portland, OR, 97206. There is a central cashier at this event so you only have to pay once also which is kind of different and which accepts cash and credit cards. Also, 30% of our sales go directly to the Lewis Elementary PTA! Please come check us out and also some of our very awesome and amazing friends Big Woo Wear and Little Daisy Chains! We are very excited about this event as it has a ton of vendors and handmade goodness to see :)

Our Powell's Pics...

We wanted to share our quick subterfuge pictures from our recent trip to Powell's Books Home and Garden store on SE Hawthorne and 37th Ave. We know it's sorta dorky, but we took some pics of our stuff in the store because I had my camera with me and well, we just did! So here is the main case that the items are in at the eye level shelf...
The items are all in these huge trays filled with dry beans and rice and in a pretty red bowl. We are so happy to see our things here :) There are several mediums of pendants in stock at Powell's. We have the miniature domino pendants all on an 18" ball and chain necklace, some wood glazed pieces also on an 18" ball and chain necklace, and also some of our bamboo domino pieces which hang on black cording. We hope they do well here.

Regardless, this is a friendly, super fun store that is so easy to shop in for interesting and unique gifts. Stop by Powell's Home and Garden and see all that this amazing store has to offer!

Don’t miss, the Alberta Street Fair this Saturday, September 19th from 11 am to 6 pm. If you’ve been, you know it’s a blast and if you haven’t, it’s time to start! Similar to ”Last Thursday”, the Alberta Street Fair offers street vendors, gallery exhibits, fabulous restaurants and cafés - but rather than being a couple hours on a “school night” it’s a full day on Saturday, the street is closed to cars and there’s even a parade!
Specifically, check out Urban Designs: Unique Jewlery by NW Artists! They will be in space 98, between 16th and 17th in front of Halo Thai (oh, my mom’s favorite Thai restaurant… she will not eat Thai food anywhere else without comparing to Halo). Here’s what I love about Urban Designs - they are incredibly affordable and each piece is truly a unique piece of art.
The first time I saw their stuff I was just passing by, didn’t have my wallet but took a gander… every morning when I would get dressed I’d think, “I really need one of those pendants, it would really look great with what I’m wearing”. Yesterday, I finally had an opportunity to purchase my first Urban Design piece… I ended up buying eight (a couple are gifts - not all for me)! I put a pendant on that very moment and I just loved it (hello, we’re talking less than $15) everywhere I went I had people commenting on my necklace. I have to say, it just made me smile. Today, I wore one of the other seven - same reaction. I’m telling you, in these times when everyone is watching what they spend, people are worried if their job will be there next quarter let alone next week - there are still simple indulgences out there and Urban Designs is one of those frugal indulgences.
So, if you’re looking for something to do this weekend check out the Alberta Street Fair and specifically Urban Designs. If you can’t make it to the fair this weekend you can also find Urban Designs at Dava Bead and Trade on NE 21st & Broadway and Powell’s Books on SE 37th & Hawthorne.

Alberta Street Fair 2009~ 12th Annual

Come and check out the Alberta Street Fair on Saturday, September 19th, 2009! It runs from 11 am to 6 pm and includes a fun and unique parade as well, usually complete with stilt walkers and unicyclists. Alberta Street will be closed from NE 15th Street to NE 30th Street and open to the public for walking along up and down browsing the booths. Urban Designs Unique Jewelry by NW Artists will be in space 98, in between NE 16th and NE 17th Streets in front of Halo Thai. We love events on Alberta! They are fun, crazy, and extremely entertaining! Please come join us :)

Powell's Books for Home and Garden!

We have incredibly exciting news! The lovely and amazing Powell's Books for Home and Garden has just taken in a collection of Urban Designs! They now carry some of our miniature domino pendants, wood pendants, and bamboo necklaces. We are so excited and pleased for this new endeavor of our business and look forward to hopefully continuing our business with Powell's.

Last Thursday on Alberta!

Even though it's bound to be scorching hot again during this week of 100 degree temperatures, we're still going for it! On July 30th we will be at the Last Thursday on Alberta street inbetween 22nd and 23rd drinking water and selling our wares... We have a bunch of new miniature domino designs! Ice cream cones, popsicles, flip flops, flowers, monsters, owls, and birds! Please come on down after the sun lets up and walk the streets. We love it and know you will too!

We know, We know!

We haven't been posting anything! We're sorry! We have been keeping really busy though with our family's and working on all sorts of things. We haven't been doing any craft shows as the beginning of the year is like a craft show coma when nothing happens. We have been stuck in that inbetween from the holiday to the summer madness you see... We have started getting info on coming late Spring and Summer shows and we promise to update whenever we actually know what we will be doing!
On other notes, we have been doing fantastically at Dava Bead and Trade and we are absolutely grateful for them in our Urban Designs Lives :) It makes us feel so proud when we drive by or go in to see all the lovely ladies! We are in the process of taking our wares to other Portland area shops so... stay tuned.
